Who is eligible for vaccination?
Influenza vaccine
Everyone who turns 65 years this year and older, and younger people in risk groups.
Coronavirus vaccine
Everyone who turns 65 years this year and older, and younger people in risk groups.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) recommends booster doses for people aged 75 and older, and for younger risk groups. People aged 65–74 can also receive the vaccine if they wish.
Pneumococcal vaccine
Everyone turning 65 in 2025 (born in 1960) is offered the pneumococcal vaccine (Prevenar 20) at a reduced price through the program.
Other people in risk groups may also receive the vaccine at the vaccination center, but must pay full price.
Two equivalent pneumococcal vaccines are available:
• Pneumovax: needs a booster dose each sixth year.
• Prevenar 20: provides long-term protection (often without the need for boosters)
Children in risk groups can also receive vaccines at the vaccination center.
Your GP (fastlege) can give you the pneumococcal vaccine and the influenza vaccine.

- Coronavirus causes respiratory disease. Many experience mild symptoms, but some becomes seriously ill. The coronavirus vaccine prevents serious illness and death. For risk groups, the vaccine should be taken annually.
